Installation Instructions – Stainless Steel Mounting Discs with VHB Tape

Required Materials

  • Cloth (lint-free)
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Stainless steel mounting discs with VHB tape

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mount
    1. Place your Dishy Mini Mount on a flat surface.
    2. Turn it over so the magnets are facing upward.
  2. Clean the Discs
    1. Using a clean cloth and isopropyl alcohol, thoroughly wipe both sides of each stainless steel mounting disc to remove dust, grease, or other contaminants.
  3. Attach Discs to Magnets
    1. Place each stainless steel disc directly onto the magnets of the mount.
    2. Peel the protective film from one side of the VHB tape (note: VHB tape is 60 mm in diameter, smaller than the 70 mm stainless steel discs).
    3. Carefully position the VHB tape in the centre of each stainless steel disc and press firmly to bond.
  4. Test Positioning
    1. Position the Dishy Mini Mount on your desired surface.
    2. Check that:
      • The mount is easily accessible for removal.
      • The surface is flat.
      • The mount has clearance from ribs or other obstructions.
    3. If clearance over vehicle roof ribs is an issue, add one or two stainless washers between the magnets and the aluminium base to increase height.
  5. Prepare the Mounting Surface
    1. Once the position is confirmed, remove the mount.
    2. Wipe the mounting area with a cloth and isopropyl alcohol to ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of grease/dust for maximum adhesion.
  6. Final Attachment
    1. Peel off the remaining protective film from the VHB tape on all discs.
    2. Carefully position the mount in place.
    3. Apply firm downward pressure to each disc for at least 10 seconds to secure adhesion.
  7. Check and Finish
    1. Lift the handle to remove the Dishy Mini Mount, breaking the magnetic seal.
    2. Visually inspect each stainless steel disc and test for excessive movement.
    3. Refit the Dishy Mini Mount onto the discs.
