Will a magnetic mount work on your vehicle?

🧲 The 30-Second Magnet Test

Not sure about your roof material? Grab a fridge magnet and stick it on the surface where you plan to mount your Starlink. If it grips firmly, you're good to go. If it slides off, you'll need mounting discs.

Magnets only bond with ferrous (iron-containing) metals like steel. Aluminium, fibreglass, and composite materials contain no iron, so there's zero magnetic pull regardless of magnet strength.

More vehicles are switching to aluminium panels for weight savings and fuel efficiency. The Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series is the most notable example in Australia, moving to an aluminium roof, bonnet, doors and front guards from 2021.
