12V Power On/Off for Starlink Mini - Setup & Pairing Guide

Watch the 2-minute setup & pairing guide

1
Before You Start
The receiver must be connected to a 12V power source before pairing. The LED indicator on the receiver will confirm each step.
Your kit includes two remotes. Both can be paired to the same receiver - you just pair them one at a time.
2
Choose Your Mode

The number of times you press the Learning Button sets the switching mode. For powering a Starlink Mini on and off, we recommend Latched mode.

Reset / Clear All Paired Remotes

If you need to start fresh or are having trouble pairing, you can clear all paired remotes from the receiver.

1

Press and hold the Learning Button on the receiver for 8 to 10 seconds, until the LED flashes. (No need to time it exactly - just hold for a good count and watch for the flash.)

2

The LED will flash and then turn off, confirming the receiver has been wiped.

3

All previously paired remotes AND the mode setting are now cleared. Repeat Steps 2 to 4 above to re-select your mode (3 presses for Latched) and re-pair your remotes.

Troubleshooting

Only one remote works?

The most common reason is that only one remote was paired, or only one button on a remote was paired. Each remote must be paired separately, and on each remote you pair BOTH the ON and the OFF button. Repeat the full learning sequence in Steps 3 and 4.

LED not flashing during pairing?

Check the receiver is getting 12V power. The LED must flash to confirm each step.

Behaviour seems wrong? (e.g. the ON button switches the unit off when pressed again, or both buttons do the same thing)

You have most likely set Toggle mode by mistake. Pressing the Learning Button 2 times sets Toggle (where a single button flips on and off) - so when you press the ON button a second time to test it, it powers the unit DOWN. That is not a fault, it is the wrong mode. Clear all remotes using the Reset steps, then re-pair using 3 presses for Latched mode. In Latched mode the ON button only switches on and the OFF button only switches off. After 3 presses the LED should flash 3 times and then stay solid green.
